Hello Cape Cod people PDF Print E-mail

(www.usscapecod.org is forwarded to this page)

It looks like someone let usscapecod.org expire, so I (Mike Connor, from your sister ship Acadia) picked it up before the name squatters could snatch it and use it for advertising. Ever tried going to www.usscapecod.com?  Very un-cool.  The .com version of ussacadia is rather un-cool too.

If you are a real live Cape Cod person that will truly take it over, let me know.  If you have a clue about "modern" database driven websites or are willing to get a clue, and have the time to mess with it, you have the qualifications.  It's not hard, but it is time consuming (so you'd better like doing it!).

The way it will be handed over is: I'll point the DNS entries to your name servers, thus letting you do whatever you want in the way of hosting.  If it's obvious that you're active with your site and good things are happening over the course of a year, I'll give domain to you when the registration is about to expire (you wouldn't actually want to start paying earlier, would you?).   I suggest BlueHost.com for hosting.

By the way,  you can have a clone of the Acadia site (www.ussacadia.org), making it fairly easy to get up and running, i.e., copy it all and then delete/change all non-applicable content.  If you want to start from scratch, there are several good, freely available, PHP/MySQL based CMS systems out there.  This site uses Joomla with Community Builder and Coppermine.  I chose Joomla because there is a ton of free add-on stuff for it and I tend to be lazy.

Let me know,

Mike  Connor (use "Contact Us " on Acadia's website to reach me; feel free to call)
