Who is FLTCM Jacqueline Jackie (Knotts) DiRosa? - 2006/08/23 04:05
While at work a few weeks ago I picked up a Navy Enquirer (aka Navy Times) to find that one of our shippies, the former HM1/HMC Jackie Knotts, now known as Jacqueline DiRosa was annointed the first female force Master Chief, Atlantic.

Seeing the news, though I have a low regard for the CMC program, I looked her up on NMCI and sent a "hey, congrats, we've started an Acadia site, stop by" email.

Silence.

Two weeks later I resent the message.

Silence.

Okay, I HATE silence. Even the busiest person if motivated will respond to an email within a month, don't you think?

This time I made the subject, "Well, Jackie...." with this verbiage:

An acknowledgement would have been nice. Oh well. Ciao.

Gerrit

Lo and behold, within 15 minutes I got a response, a charming, warmly thought-out retort, dripping with ice crystals and insincerity:

Gerrit,

It is always great to hear from past shipmates but I hope you can understand that my schedule is quite hectic and I receive hundreds of email daily.
No apologies for not getting back to you immediately.

OKAY! Thank you Jackie! May I have another?!

So, fellow Acadians, there you have it, one of our own is still sort of in the mix in a useless program (CMC) which sole aim is, IMHO, to make the CPO Mess into the Wardroom. A very, very bad thing.

Jackie's hairstyle hasn't changed much. Same fake smile.

Photo from page 60 of the 90-91 cruisebook.

Re:So who is this FLTCM Jackie (Knotts) DiRosa? - 2006/08/23 07:23
It is astonishing that someone in such a "high" place doesn't know to be nice to everyone, especially in email.

I think I learned at the age of 5 or so to be careful what you say (or do) to whom because 1) you never know who you're talking to, and 2) you never know where it'll get back to.

Wow,

It's amazing how judmental people can be... She really IS busy and that really is her smile damit!
Although we are all busy I have kept in contact with her ever since she beat me out for SOY (HAHA) and I havent even heard from her for over 3 months and know her family!

Soooo shipmate, it would really be nice if you arent fully informed or, personally know the person in question, to have a bit more of a positive attitude. This woman is still making quite a positive impact on many people still serving!

Thanks for looking and the additional input Deb, damned good to hear from you.

However, it doesn't change my impression of Jackie! Getting such a cold shoulder sucked and "busy" is seriously overused - if one is motivated, they make the time, in my humble opinion.

It would be great if Jackie herself would steer herself here the Acadia site, but I have the feeling she'll have to retire and decompress for a while for that to happen.

Sinkex feedback from CNOCM Jackie (Knotts) DiRosa - 2008/06/06 12:32
As more news on the Acadia SINKEX makes the rounds, emails were going around and I was happy to see a reply from Jackie... not to me, but to the group Deb Sloan had been emailing with. Here is what Jackie said:

"WOW! Not sure how I missed this in the Navy Times - oh yeah - I don't read it. Anyway, this news breaks my heart and I gotta tell you, it actually brought tears to my eyes. It really saddens me.

ACADIA was my first ship - I made Chief on her - so many great memories. It's like burying a dear friend.

So, does anyone know where she will be sunk at and when?

Jackie
"

CNOCM? That's a new one.
