If you have a web site that you can add a link to ussacadia.org on, please do so. Doing so will help with search engine placement. It's ridiculous to have sites that are commercial and/or designed to sell advertising coming out on top when "uss acadia" is searched for. In other news, the gallery is growing nicely with Andrea's latest additions. Still looking for atleast two more cruisebooks. There should be atleast one (probably two) between 1983 and 1988, and the last one, in 1994. If you have one/some of these, please contact us; all you have to do is send it in or shoot it yourself if you have the right kind of camera equipment. If you'd like to write articles, announcements, and such on this site, contact us. As always, if you have some graphic arts / programming muscle muscle you'd like to flex, you're welcome to flex them here. |

The 1992 Cruisbook is the latest addition courtesy of Arrington Leonard (Lenny). Its layout is a little goofy and it has numerous errors. If you don't see someone in the department/division they should be in, go to the next page (or three). You'll quickly figure out what they did. They are usually good errors though; according to the book, OS2 Heath made Chief in just 6 months! Way to go Jamie! To see a full size, bigger than your screen image, click on the image until it goes full size. At that point, you can read the pages. If you have the other years, let us know! |

Andrea (Brown) West tells me that Shirley James at

is organizing a reunion June 9th - 11th in College Park, GA . College Park is an Atlanta suburb by the airport. Contact Shirley for more info and tell her join this site while you're at it (I'm guessing my email got called spam by hotmail). In other news, I posted a video clip of the bridge while leaving Hong Kong. Andrea West, several QM's, and Capt. King, are in it. You'll need the QuickTime Player from apple.com to play it (it's free); RealMedia Player will play it too, but QuickTime seems to be the least evil choice. I tried to use a Windows Media file, but Windows Media Player wouldn't play it's own file correctly in a browser. The QuickTime video quality is much better anyway (for a given bitrate). |
