West Coast Reunion August 5th - 7th
Saturday, 19 February 2011
Paul Broadway is organizing the West Coast reunion that will be held August 5th through the 7th at the Don Diego VFW Post at 2100 Logan Avenue in San Diego (right under the Coronado Bay Bridge).  The VFW has very cheap drinks, by the way.  At the moment, Paul is planning tours of the USS Midway and the Veteran Museum and a brunch on Sunday.  Paul can be reached at (619) 284-2331.

USS Acadia sunk off of Guam
Sunday, 26 September 2010

The USS Acadia is now marine habitat, sunk in mid-September, 2010.  You can find details about it here. The Acadia was used for live fire exercises by the Air Force, Navy, and somewhat the Marines (the Marines' stuff didn't fire).

Gerald Soto posted pictures of the sinking in the photo gallery; kind of wild to see.  One would hope they atleast intend to recycle the metal.  Steel is like gold these days if you have to buy it. The screw is probably rather pricey too.
