I was on the Acadia from 1981 to 1986. I was in Pearl Harbor last December and the Acadia is there in mothballs. I took a few pictures of her through a chainlink fence. That section of the base was closed so I was not able to get closer to her. If anyone would like those pictures post a reply and I will get them to you.

Checked onboard February 1982 in San Francisco and departed October 1985. Yeoman worked in Legal, Admin, Repair Dept. with Richard Schenk (who i would love to hear from), RQ Divison, S-2 Division. Steve Minch, James Radloff, Fred Loyacano (who i am still in touch with), Jim Campbell (also still in touch with)were some of my buds.. I have a 1983 Cruisebook, mint condition, so glad I bought it back then. Best times of my life happened while I was stationed aboard her. I went on to NAS Corpus Christi until 1988 and transfered to USS MIDWAY (CV-41) and went onto Desert Storm with her, decommissioning her in San Diego and Decomm Crew in Seattle. Got out, now working as Property Tax Assessor. If you know Jim Radloff and or Steve Minch (from Kentucky) please let me know. James Sekelsky, S-2 Baker, went to boot camp with him as well onboard the ACADIA. |
