Hello Acadia,
This is your boy Terry T Taylor (86-89). I am coordinating the Hampton Roads East Coast Reunion on August 12-14, 2011. We have ignited a tremendous buzz for the event and with all of your attendance this thing can go viral. So far we have chosen the Portsmouth Renaissance Hotel as our hotel/meet and greet on Friday Aug 12. The Renaissance is an outstanding venue with a great scenic view of downtown Norfolk and the harbor. On Saturday we plan to have a picnic beginning around 3 o'clock to enable out of town guest the opportunity to take in the area or participate in a tentitavely schedule golf outing without being tied to the group. This late start time will also allow some to recover from the night prior nights festivities. The picnic will be located at the City Park in Portsmouth. On Sunday we we are coordinating an early morning service for those that would like to attend and the Brunch closeout to wrap things up. Our committe has received a great deal on a USS Acadia (AD-42) 2011 Reunion commenmorative T-Shirt for the low price of either 8 dollars. Although we have chosen the Renaissance as our Sunday Brunch location it is possible that we may choose the Marriott on the other side of the water in Downtown Norfolk. It might be fun to ride the ferry across the water. There is a event posting on the US Acadia Facebook page requesting RSVP's. Please let our team know as soon as possible if you plan to attend so that we can provide the best possible experience for all. I can be reached at terrance.taylor@navy.mil. take care and hope to see you there.
